What do Chrome Steel Liners do?
In oil-lubricated lip-type systems, the seals run on a liner. Over time, the seals create grooves in the liner. The liner takes the wear, protecting the expensive propeller shaft.

Our Cost-Effective Renewal Options:
When replacing seals, we always check the liner surface. New seals should run on a fresh surface. If grooves are too deep, we need to skim the liner (depending on tolerance).

• For the AFT side: Before you purchase a new liner, we offer two options. We can add or remove a distance ring between the seal housing and stern tube, moving the entire seal box to a different position on the liner. Or, we can quickly manufacture a new liner for you.

• For the FWD side: We can machine or renew the liner.
  We are always looking for the most cost-efficient way for our customers.
